Our Teaching Methods

August 12, 2008 by Mr. Peter's Swimming School

Our teaching methods are age specific and follow the children’s needs. In the parents and babies/ toddlers session, the main emphasis is on building water confidence through playful activities and songs.

At the next stage, (beginners and improvers) the teachers are in the water with the children. From this point onwards parents are not required in the pool. We offer buoyancy aids and neoprene wetsuits for the youngest swimmers. In general, we do not use arm bands, but prefer woggles and floats.

Squad level groups (except for the Junior Squad) are taught from the poolside.

We test and re-test the children’s progress every half term. If it is necessary, we move them to the next appropriate group. We use the ASA and STA  certificate and badge systems in order to reward and motivate the children.

During the term, late enrolments are offered a free trial lesson.
